Square and line dance offer engaging and high-energy ways to build movement skills, teamwork, rhythm, and classroom community in the physical education setting. In this interactive session, participants will explore creative strategies for integrating traditional and contemporary dance experiences into the PE classroom while supporting physical literacy, coordination, cooperation, and student confidence. Attendees will leave with ready-to-use dances, music resources, and adaptable activities designed to engage learners of all skill levels. Whether you are new to dance instruction or looking to refresh your PE curriculum, this session will provide practical tools to get students moving, collaborating, and having fun.
Learn how to teach rhythm and coordination through group dances while building confidence and cooperation. Dances will include the 1950's Stroll, the 1800's Virginia Reel, and the modern Cowboy Hustle. A fun way to improve heart health, balance and overall fitness.
